Sunday Afternoon Drive

One thing I absolutely love about Utah, and where I live in Spanish Fork particularly, is the easy access to canyons and beautiful views with just a 5 minute drive. In Arizona, I had 2 choices. Okay 3.

1. Drive up to the Salt River (15 minutes at most)
2. Drive up to Roosevelt Lake out by the Superstition Mountains (20ish minutes maybe?)
3. Drive to Flagstaff. (2 hours)

Up here in Utah, there is pretty much a canyon in every big city. There is Payson Canyon, Spanish Fork Canyon, Hobble Creek Canyon, Provo Canyon, American Fork Canyon, and once you get into Salt Lake, they just keep coming. All of the ones I have listed are within maybe a 30 minute drive, depending on which road the state decided to tear up and rebuild that week.

John and I live in Spanish Fork, and just 2 quick minutes to the nearest canyon, Spanish Fork Canyon. Some coworkers of mine live in Spanish Fork, or grew up in cities within the canyon and know quite a bit about it. This canyon is one of the only ways that you can get to Price, UT. With that being said, it is a big trucking highway. And due to the weather during the winter and the narrow roads, it is one of the deadliest canyons in the country.

With those factors in play, it is also one of the most beautiful canyons I have seen. Yes, it was a little scary at times with the tight curves and the big trucks zooming past you at random times, it was very much worth it. All in all, I love long drives with my husband.

Along with enjoying the scenery and talks with my man, I get to hear John go on about what he would do if we were rich. He is quite the dreamer ;) It really is interesting and mind boggling what he can come up with when he thinks long and hard about something. This is one of his many dreams that we talked about while on this drive. If we lived in Arizona, he would want to have a 4 story house. Say wha???!! Two stories above ground and two stories under ground. On the lowest level, he wants to have a huge movie room, or an indoor pool. But the pool MUST have fiber glass walls, so you could see through your pool. Along with these (and many more outrageous ideas) he wants a 4-6 car garage. Big enough for two cars, a boat, and a shop on the side. He also wants to build a spa for me, along with a huge commercial grade kitchen for me. Okay, the kitchen part I added in ;) Everything aside, I love my husband with everything I've got and then some :)

Here are some pictures of our drive, courtesy of John's phone.

So this technically wasn't taken IN the canyon, but on our way to the canyon, literally 2 seconds away from our house.

 Look at that hunk ;)

 Are we in California?!!!

 I wish we were....

 Leaves changing colors!!

I love all the mountains!

The Little House on the Prairie??

Love the contrast of colors

Now this picture is super boring. But we literally turned a corner from the pictures above to this boring nothingness. The scenery can change so fast.

Total and complete side note.
I LOVE this song. And it makes me want to go to Hawaii super badly.

That is all.
